FAQ - How do I copy and paste text into an image?

Serif Software > PhotoPlus
Applies to: All versions

In PhotoPlus, you can quickly and easily create  your own text from scratch using the Text tool. You can find out exactly how to do this in Creating and editing text.

It's also possible to paste text from an external program into PhotoPlus. Here's how....

To copy your text:
  • Copy the text from your external program.
  • In PhotoPlus, Select the Text Tool from the Tools toolbar on the left.
  • Click on your photo (or on the canvas) where you want the text to appear. You'll see a flashing text cursor.
  • From the Edit menu, select Paste > Into Selection. Your text will appear at the insertion point.

Note: Depending on the size of your photo, the text you've pasted in might need resizing to be bigger! To make editing slightly easier, zoom in using the zoom tool on the Standard toolbar.

To format your text:

  • With the Text Tool selected, click and drag the text cursor across your pasted text to select it.
  • From the context toolbar, change the font, size and colour as you want to.

Note: Choosing an Anti-alias option (from the drop-down list on the context toolbar) of "Super Sample" creates crisp text without jagged edges!
