Cropping your image to a QuickShape is a simple but effective creative technique that provides you with a larger range of cropping ideas.
To find out how, simply follow the steps below:
- First, insert an image. You can do this by selecting Picture on the Insert menu and then choosing where you want to insert your image from.
- Select a QuickShape from the QuickShapes flyout on the Tools toolbar.
Draw the QuickShape over the part of the image that you want to crop to.
Draw a shape with the Pencil Tool, ensuring that the start and end of the line meet to close the shape.
You can move the shape with the Move button if you need to reposition it or resize it as required.
- Ensure the Pointer tool is selected, and draw a marquee around the image and the QuickShape/shape to select them both at the same time. Alternatively, you could click on both while holding down the Shift key.
- On the Arrange tab (bottom-right), click the down arrow on the Crop flyout, then Crop to Top Object from the menu.
You will see your image has been cropped to the QuickShape/shape.
