The error message: "Uploading error: Failed to get the working directory from the FTP Server" usually appears when you are attempting to upload from WebPlus. This could be uploading all or part of your website.

This problem tends to occur because your FTP details have been entered into WebPlus incorrectly. We suggest that you check the following FTP details with your hosting provider to ensure they are correct:
  1. Username
  2. Password
  3. Folder you are uploading to*
  4. Permission issues when uploading
  5. Encryption type

*Possible folders could include the following:

  • public
  • public_html
  • httpdocs
  • www
  • web

Note: It's important that you upload to the correct folder - the one that has been given to you by your hosting provider. Otherwise, the upload will not be successful.

If you find any discrepancies between the FTP details you have entered in WebPlus and the ones given to you by your hosting provider, simply update them in WebPlus and try uploading your web page/site again.
